Our Organized Play Team has been hard at work getting everything ready for AdeptiCon! Today, we are sitting down to chat with Andrea, our OP Coordinator, about AdeptiCon’s league offerings.
Why are we chatting about leagues today?
Leagues are a new event offering for each game system at Adepticon this year, and I wanted to share some information about how the leagues will work so players don’t miss out on a great way to enjoy fun and unique game experiences at the convention. Best of all, as an open-play experience and one of the best ways to earn additional tickets for our new prize wall, leagues can be played in between your scheduled game events.
Why should players join a league?
Leagues are a fun way to add open-play, after-hour, or casual games to the overall con reward experience. If you sign up for a league, your open-play games will earn tickets over 4 days while incorporating fun narrative rules that change up the standard game experience.
Do the leagues come with any printed materials?
Yes! Each league provides game materials that have never been officially printed before. It will be everyone’s first time seeing official print materials for these events and getting copies to take home! However, like most of our events, you will need to bring your own armies that meet the event’s requirements and standard game materials like measurement tools and dice.
Can you explain a bit about how the leagues work?
It is pretty simple! On your first day at AdeptiCon, you will check in with the AMG judges at tournament HQ to get your league card and other play materials. Your league card will have your name and the league you are participating in, along with slots that denote unredeemed games for each day. Then you will play games, reporting back when you need tickets or new materials. Judges around the event hall and at the tournament HQ will be able to assist as needed.
Are there certain areas that are set aside for league play?
Not really—I’ll explain. There will usually be tables in the AMG play area, alongside scheduled events, or after they end for the evening. However, games don’t need to be played in a set place or at a set time. Games can be played pretty much anywhere that is suitable for a good game! The league is very free-form and should be played on your schedule at your own pace. If you ever have questions about rules, what spaces are available, or need help finding other league players, simply find a judge or other member of the AMG event team and they will be able to assist.
How do players report their games and get prizewall tickets?
When you have completed one or more games for a day, you can report to tournament HQ. Games should be reported no more than one day after they are played. For instance, we will not accept reports of Friday’s games beyond Saturday evening. To report a game, you will need to know the name of your opponent. Once reported, judges will give you prize wall tickets for each game and punch the corresponding slots on your league card showing that those games have been redeemed.
How many games can a player report a day and how many tickets can be earned?
You can report a total of 4 AMG league games a day, each awarding 6 tickets. This means league play can award up to 24 tickets a day.
We are looking forward to AdeptiCon and hope to see lots of you there. If you have any remaining questions about leagues or other tournaments, you can reach out to us at op@atomicmassgames.com and we will be happy to help.
