Rebellions are built on hope, and the All the Way Squad Pack brings new hope to players with the introduction of Cassian Andor, K-2SO, and a unit of Rebel Pathfinders to Star Wars™: Shatterpoint. This squad pack represents some of the Rebel Alliance’s best intelligence operatives and we’ve escaped with the details, ready to download the plans to your device.
Cassian Andor has participated in many missions that were pivotal to the founding of the New Republic. Having grown up as the adopted son of a pair of smugglers, Cassian learned many skills that he would use later in life. He experienced more than his fair share of hardship, conflict, and strife, channeling those experiences into his fight against the Empire.
Captain Cassian Andor represents a cross-era Primary character spanning both the Reign of the Empire and the Age of Rebellion. He has a personal impact befitting one of the Rebellion’s top operatives and the support abilities of an experienced leader.
Captain Cassian Andor serves as an intelligence operative, leading small teams to infiltrate enemy positions. We Need to Blend In allows him to spend a Force token to capitalize on a weakness or reinforce a position. Moving himself and another character to a new spot on the battlefield can be critical to the shifting nature of Star Wars: Shatterpoint.
Intelligence operatives at Cassian’s level are experts at preparing and laying traps for the enemy. This Town is Ready to Blow represents your forces having prepped the battlefield for your fight. When a Struggle Card is claimed (by you or your opponent!), Cassian can trigger those previously set traps. They cause enemy units contesting Active objectives to suffer 1–3 damage depending on a roll of your dice. Luckily, allies were provided the position of the traps, allowing them to avoid damage.
You can’t always avoid getting your hands dirty when battling the forces of evil and Cassian has had to act not only as a spy but also an assassin. We’ve All Done Terrible Things shows his team’s willingness to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. When performing a combat action, he can add three dice to his attack against an enemy character that is engaged with his allies. The distraction those characters are providing does come at a cost, though, as one of the allied characters will suffer two damage for the cause.
Cassian is also an excellent leader, able to make use of limited resources and Make Ten Men Feel Like a Hundred when pressuring the enemy. He can reverse what may otherwise be a losing position, Advancing an allied character when a different allied unit becomes Wounded. Shifting his forces on the battlefield to cover an objective that would be lost or steal an undefended position is a critical advantage. Even better, units with the Spy tag upgrade the movement to a Reposition, allowing them to advance out of engagement.
Cassian’s identity also allows his forces to take advantage of the shifts of fate, providing any Rebel Alliance unit activated by the Shatterpoint Card Impact [2] and Sharpshooter [2], boosting their ability to bring the fight to the enemy.
All the Way provides a balanced approach to ranged and melee attacks, but a heavy focus on damage, with every option adding to the damage pool. No matter how successful his attack, he’ll be one step closer to Wounding the enemy.
Light it Up focuses on ranged combat and options that manipulate the enemy rather than just damage them. There is still a heavy focus on damage in the early tree, but the later tree provides a lot of flexibility.
K-2SO is the Secondary character of this squad pack. A reprogrammed security droid that once arrested Cassian, he now fights for the Rebel Alliance as Cassian’s muscle when things go sideways.
K-2SO is here to help and he’s not shy about speaking his mind. Why Does She Get a Blaster and I Don’t? allows him to Dash towards an allied Rebel Alliance character, with that character gaining a Hunker token or removing a condition. Congratulations, You are Being Rescued then allows him to Dash toward an enemy character that has Wounded an ally, making a five-dice attack against them. Thankfully, his Ranged Expertise Chart provides easy access to critical results, which means the enemy might not celebrate that Wound for long!
An invaluable and tireless comrade on missions, Goodbye allows K-2SO to punish someone that Wounds him with an attack, giving them both Pinned and Strained. These debilitating conditions might entirely prevent the enemy from taking advantage of Wounding him. It also allows an allied spy within Range 3 to Dash somewhere. This means that character could reinforce an objective that K-2SO was contesting or potentially steal an objective from the enemy. If that wasn’t good enough, it also lets K-2SO sacrifice himself for his friends, trading up to two of your Momentum for two additional spaces of movement for the Struggle token, at the cost of defeating him. Lockdown is the last ability on this powerhouse of a unit, with a simple but powerful effect. It ensures that while he isn’t Wounded, your opponent cannot take control away from you on an objective he is contesting.
Effortless Efficiency provides a good number of dice for both Ranged and Melee attacks and although his Expertise Charts don’t provide explosive results, they provide steady value. Early access to Shoves in his Combat Tree can be invaluable and the late Reposition can provide surprising avenues of play when an attack really blasts past the enemy’s defenses.
The Rebel Pathfinders unit represents the unsung heroes of the alliance; those people whose name may not be recognized, but nevertheless were integral to the success of the movement.
The Rebel Pathfinders are a Support Unit largely focusing on movement. Their ability to flit around the battlefield in unexpected ways is sure to catch an opponent by surprise. Cloak and Dagger helps ensure that the unit isn’t all about movement, though. It essentially allows them to sacrifice one of their attacks to add three dice to the other, with the added benefit of additional damage for critical results in the initial roll. Pathfinders is how they bring something unique to their Squad. It allows them to turn Advances and Dashes into climbs through Scale while also ensuring they are never left flat footed thanks to Immunity to Pinned. The second half of this ability is where they really shine, though. Whenever they would Dash, they can instead make an Advance if they have a Hunker token. This is a powerful ability to have on a Support Unit if you can get them a Hunker token. Defensive Maneuver would seem to combo with this well, but they’ll still need to be given a Dash from another unit in order to take full advantage.
Covert Strike reflects that they are not trying to sit on the front lines. They may only provide minimal assistance with damage, but they can inflict some debilitating conditions on the enemy and when they manage to really catch someone by surprise, the late tree access to a Reposition can land them in surprising places.
